CubSight:

The Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation is working to improve the Quality of Life for children through the Cubsight Program. The Cubsight program is designed to screen children from 1 to 5 years of age. With this screening, we can detect eye diseases before it is too late. With early detection of eye diseases, we can save a child’s sight. The Lions can set up a screening at your school, church or private organization. Please contact the CubSight Director or your local Lions Club to schedule a screening.

Eyeglass Recycling:

The Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation helps to improve the Quality of Life to people all over the world by providing recycled eyeglasses to people in Third World countries. The Louisiana Lions have been recycling eyeglasses for many years. In the past 4 years the Lions of Louisiana have recycled over 177,ooo eyeglasses.         LCI Eyeglass Recycling Website.

Research and Development:

Through the years, the LSU Research and Development Department has been responsible for several breakthroughs in modern medicine. Dr.Herbert E. Kaufman, M.D. of LSU performed the first Lasik surgery with equipment donated by the Louisiana Lions. The Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation has helped improve the Quality of Life by providing funding and equipment to continue eye research.

Education:

The LSU School of Ophthalmology, in conjunction with the Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation, is working to improve the Quality of Life for generations to come. Through funding and the patients provided by the Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation, the LSU professors can train the young minds of today to be the physicians of tomorrow.
