The Low Vision Program is a collaborative effort between the Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation, Lions Clubs International and LSU Eye Center. The Low Vision Program provides services to patients with visual impairments resulting from certain eye diseases. After a low vision evaluation, Dr. Gill can determine the level of visual rehabilitation needed. Depending on the patient’s needs, Dr. Gill may prescribe low vision devices and training to make the best use of the patients remaining vision.

By providing Low Vision services the Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation can improve the “Quality of Life” to thousands of people by allowing them to perform the normal day to day activities that was impossible due to their level of eyesight.

Some people find it difficult to read the newspaper, watch television, read the medicine bottle, paint a picture, crochet or many other normal activities. By providing these patients with Low Vision Services we can help them perform the activities that are important to them, the activities that they enjoy and the activities that enable them to maintain an independent lifestyle.
