Exams & Eyeglasses


	The Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation helps to improve the Quality of Life by providing Eye Exams and Eyeglasses to residents of Louisiana who otherwise could not afford this care.

	To receive these services you must be sponsored by a Louisiana Lions Club.

		If you feel that you need eye care and you are unable to afford these services, first contact your local Lions Club to see if that club is a participating club. If they are not, contact the Eye Foundation to be referred to a participating club in your area.


	An application will be filled out with you by a club member then sent to the main office to see if you meet the Federal guidelines for indigent care. Your application will then be processed and you will be contacted by the Foundation’s Patient Coordinator or from the participating clinic in your area to set up an appointment.


	An eye exam will be performed to determine your level of eyesight. If required, a prescription for your new eyeglasses will be written. At this time you will be allowed to choose from a selection of 22 different frames for your liking.

		We do not accept prescriptions from outside the Lion’s network.

Your glasses will be manufactured by our optical center then sent back to your clinic. You will then be contacted by that clinic with an appointment for your fitting.

After your exam, if it is determined that surgery is required, you will be referred to a participating hospital for a second opinion and consultation. Then an appointment will be set for surgery.
